Flat White
A flat white is known for its velvety texture due to the microfoam created in the milk.
Ingredients:
- Espresso
- Milk
To make a flat white, use a ceramic cappuccino cup if ordered to stay, or a 10 oz paper cup if ordered to go.
- Prep a standard steaming pitcher with 8 oz of milk.
- Pull a double short (2 oz) shot of espresso into your cup.
- Steam and aerate your milk to wet microfoam texture at 65°C or 150°F.
- Pour your milk over the espresso into the cup and finish with latte art.
- Serve on a large saucer with a tea spoon if ordered to stay.
Note: The key to making a great flat white is getting the milk texture down. Good microfoam will only be aerated slightly, making the milk less foamy with small bubbles equally dispersed throughout the milk.
